Medical Aid plans - Are designed and approved by the Council of Medical Schemes of South Africa.
Depending on the Medical Aid provider, most plans do not have limits on approved procedures performed in the hospital.
Medical Aid provides in – hospital cover and medical treatment according to the medical scheme tariff amount per procedure code.
Medical Insurance Products usually offers limited cover for in- hospital procedures and most out of hospital day-to-day costs are covered by the members themselves.
These products are approved under the Short Term Insurance guidelines.
