Discovery Health Medical Scheme Members will have no increase in their Health contributions during Jan to June 2021. Contributions will be increased from effect 01 July 2021 with an estimated increase of 5.9%. Benefits will be updated on the Network lists, out-patient mental wellbeing cover, access to fertility therapies, Connected care, Shariah compliant plan options and Discovery Prepaid Health, allowing users to purchase vouchers. This free platform allows users to purchase vouchers for healthcare services provided within a network.
Plan Upgrades will be allowed with effect 01 Jan 2021 or 01 July 2021.

Discovery Connected care, a digital healthcare home-based device, which sends doctors a live feed for health diagnostic purposes, called TytoHome kit is available from 01 November 2020.
Support for Mental Wellbeing : Members will have access to new benefits and services to maintain their mental health following a major depressive episode. A Relapse Prevention Programme for members who are at a high risk of a relapse or a recurrence of a major depressive episode, including access to Vitality Rewards for Personal Health Goals for qualifying members.
Shariah Compliant : Members have the option to manage their contributions and claims on any of the Discovery Health plans in line with the Shariah rules and principles that are in place.
Infertility and Assisted Reproductive Therapy benefit will support families between the ages of 35 years to 42 years that are affected by infertility.
Special Offers : New Members joining effective 01 November 2020 to 01 January 2021 can have their premiums billed in the Arrears and can have access to the Full Vitality Benefit for free, starting months of 01 November 2020 to 31 January 2021. Vitality premiums will be billed from 01 February 2021 should members choose to keep the Vitality benefit.
Discovery Vitality Updates : Members can join the Team Vitality Community for free on Strava and will get rewarded according to their achievements. Vitality Healthy Dining benefit will include fresh and frozen meal kits and readymade meals from Frozen for You, We are Food, Daily Dish and U Cook. Members will receive Vitality points for Preventative screenings and their Physical Activities that were completed in 2019. These points will be allocated by 31 October 2020 to memberships.
Nike is the new Vitality Active Gear benefit and Partner, allowing members to earn upfront discounts of up to 75% on Sports gear and equipment. Vitality members can access Vitality Rewards at the Nike Stores.
Discovery Miles : Discovery Bank clients with Vitality Money can earn up to 1 Discovery Mile for every Vitality Health Fitness point or Vitality Drive points that they earn every week. Members can spend Discovery Miles on new travel, retail and lifestyle partners and can get up to 20% discount on online purchases, buy prepaid products in Discovery Miles.
Holiday Accommodation and Car Hire bookings are now open, including International and Domestic flight bookings later in October 2020. Vitality members will get an upfront discount up to 75% on Domestic Flights and access to bookings 72 hours before non-members. Discovery Bank Black and Purple cardholders will be allowed to skip the queues with the Discovery Bank Priority Fast Track service.
Physical Activity Points: Members will receive the higher amount of points that they have earned between Jan to Sept 2019 verses Jan to Sept 2020 allocated by latest 31 October 2020.
